Microsoft has announced the free games that will be available to Games With Gold and Xbox Game Pass subscribers in November: Praetorians - HD Remaster and Dead End Job. Meanwhile, subscribers can still secure their copy of October's games: the sea and island survival RPG Windbound is available until October 31, while the simulation and strategy game Bomber Crew: Deluxe Edition is available until November 16.
Developed by Ant Workshop Ltd and released in 2019 by Headup, Dead End Job is an indie shoot-'em-up with superior vision. The game is set in a ghost-filled, procedurally generated world with Ren & Stimpy-style 2D graphics. In the plot the player takes on the role of Hector Plasm, a worker for Ghoul-B-Gone - the number one experts in paranormal pest control.
Praetorians - HD Remaster was developed by Torus Games and released in 2020 by Kalypso Media. The game is a high-definition graphics version of the game originally released in 2003 by Eidos Interactive. In this real-time strategy game the player has access to more than 20 missions in Egypt, Gaul and Italy, and three different armies: Egyptians, Gauls and the Roman Legion. Marked by lots of action, the game has several types of units and characters, and unique sets of skills.
Games With Gold offerings are notoriously weak, but they became even worse this October when Microsoft stopped giving away Xbox 360 games. According to the company said in July, the service "had reached the limit of Microsoft's ability to bring Xbox 360 games into the catalog." Traditionally, since January 2014, Games With Gold subscribers received four games a month, which changed in August of this year to just two games.
